Hello, I’m Önder Şavkay, founder of Önder Fan.
We operate from a 5,500 m² manufacturing facility in Bursa with a team of 45 employees. Our annual production capacity is 950 tons, including approximately 1,100 industrial fans and 150 filter unit sets.
After evaluating different solutions, we decided that SOLIDWORKS was the most suitable software for our products and manufacturing processes. During this search, we were introduced to TEKYAZ Technological Software through a recommendation from a colleague.
One of the main reasons we chose TEKYAZ was their sales office in Bursa, which gave us confidence from the very beginning. They contacted us quickly, and after purchasing the software, they also provided the technical infrastructure and support we needed to start using it effectively.
Before SOLIDWORKS, we designed all of our projects using traditional 2D CAD software. Although this method worked, it resulted in significant losses in terms of labor, workflow efficiency, and production costs.
After switching to SOLIDWORKS, we experienced a dramatic improvement in our design and costing processes. More importantly, we entered the world of research and development. Our R&D capabilities became even stronger after we started using SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation, allowing us to take a major step toward innovation.
Fifteen or even twenty years ago, when we handed a 2D drawing to the production team, the typical response was, “There’s no way we can finish this in two days. It will take at least ten.” Those days are now completely behind us.
SOLIDWORKS has significantly accelerated every stage of our workflow. Before using simulation software, we relied heavily on physical trial and error, making it difficult to achieve meaningful product improvements. Product development was both time-consuming and costly.
Developing new products required a considerable amount of raw materials and repeated prototype manufacturing. With SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation, we can now create virtually unlimited design alternatives digitally and achieve the desired performance before production begins.
At first, the simulation results were not entirely reliable because I was still learning the software. However, as my experience grew, Flow Simulation became an invaluable tool that greatly accelerated our R&D activities.
When comparing our Flow Simulation analyses with physical test setups, we achieved a correlation of 85% at minimum and up to 96–97% at maximum. We confirmed these results through practical field tests as well as measurements taken during manufacturing.
In industrial fan applications, we have successfully reached operating pressures of up to 38,000 Pascals, an extreme performance level. Once we verified these results through Flow Simulation and physical testing, producing such high-performance products became a standard capability rather than an exceptional achievement.
Initially, we were hesitant because of the investment cost of SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation. However, once we started using it, we quickly realized its value. Customer feedback became more positive, production became more efficient, and the performance of our designs consistently improved.
For the projects we undertake, Flow Simulation has eliminated uncertainties before installation. By creating accurate digital models of our customers’ systems, we can analyze airflow, pressure, velocity, and resistance points throughout the entire process. Flow Simulation provides us with a complete engineering solution, enabling us to deliver more reliable and comprehensive services to our customers.
I highly recommend TEKYAZ to anyone considering SOLIDWORKS Flow Simulation. Their professional support, technical expertise, and customer-oriented approach have made a significant contribution to our success.
